LIFE Northern Bald Ibis
In 2022 the new LIFE Project to preserve the Northern Bald Ibis in Europe was started. After 20 years of reintroduction efforts, there were already 200 Northern Bald Ibises living in the European Alps at the beginning of 2022. As part of “LIFE20 Northern Bald Ibis”, this population is to become self- sustaining by 2028 and survive mostly without human intervention.
